I love 3D computer graphics; our ability to bring ANYTHING to life in an image now rivals the skills of the greatest magicians and priests of antiquity. Remember NeXT Computer? Because Steve Jobs ran both NeXT and Pixar, he had RenderMan built in to the NeXtStep operating system, and a few developers built some cool tools to use it. If one were willing to dive into "collectible computing" one could acquire this OscarĀ®-winning software and learn a skill available only to employees of major studios. (I hocked my truck and borrowed from my folks to get my NeXT Turbo Cube with a NeXTdimension color board back in 1993.) Plus, RenderMan seems to produce a rich look no other image-generating software can match. Rather like hand-ground pigments in linseed oil, applied with a camel-hair brush.

Lately I've begun exploring other 3D systems, including Martin Wegenmeyer's
Cheetah3D.

Experiments with Unity
The pieces below are recent explorations of a new medium -- videogames. They were created using Unity, the awesome development platform from Unity Technologies.
